The same thing was games. There was no home without “Man Behave Yourself” or other board games in the box. For example, the indispensable chess. The children already had something very different from their grandfathers, who stillthrew bucketsand played make-believe. No, that is not a dirty word, but some sort of outdated knob. Nor does flipping the bucket mean hitting someone, namely a girl named Catherine, by name. The duck was actually a small block carved out of wood. It was shaped like a needle and stood at the end of it. With the help of a small child\’s whip, this duck began to move. We children didn\’t recognize it anymore. Our parents recognized.
Meanwhile, our children cannot recognize some of the toys and games. This is the fault of the times and of progress. Progress certainly eliminates what is no longer needed in this age. And she is sometimes very disappointed. Perhaps there is someone in the world who would like to try that duck.
Times have changed and we must admit that computers have taken over us and therefore children\’s games. For boys, a simple car toy is no longer enough. They need a transformer, if possible. And wooden dolls with pieces of cloth as dolls are unthinkable for today\’s girls. Others would laugh at them.
Children today spend most of their time on computers and cell phones. They don\’t talk to each other, they just stare at their little boxes and exchange pictures. Or they do something else. I recently saw a scene on a train where a bunch of kids were sitting in their seats, staring blankly at a small monitor. I don\’t know if they were playing a game or doing something else, but they weren\’t talking much. But on the other hand, they were quiet all the time. So, to tell the truth, there was an advantage. I could sleep peacefully because I wasn\’t disturbed.
Computer games may not be the right thing to do, but if you use them in moderation, why not, I think?
