I invited a young woman on the call today to share her story about pregnancy and taking hormonal contraception. The call was chatty, so I rewrote it into a transcript.

- Hello. I live in Pilsen and I am 22 years old. I am currently working as a designer and model.
What brought you here?
- To tell my story. About pregnancy and contraception.
You are currently pregnant. How did you know?
- So, as I mentioned earlier, I am on hormonal contraception, but I have yet to get my period. I had constant lower abdominal pain and nothing was happening, so I took a pregnancy test.
What was the result of the pregnancy test?
- Your test result was negative, but you were pregnant at the time of the tattoo.
Interestingly enough, did anyone explain to you why the test was negative and the pregnancy was discovered?
- My period had not come yet and I was still in pain, so my boyfriend and I visited the hospital and found out I was 13 weeks and 6 days pregnant. To be honest, my boyfriend and I were both surprised.
I totally understand that and that I was caught off guard.
- That\’s part of it, but mainly we weren\’t planning a baby at the moment. We both work and we don\’t live together yet, so it\’s quite a responsibility.
And you thought about terminating the pregnancy when you were caught off guard.
- Yes, that thought crossed my mind, but the doctor said it was okay because it was too late in the week.
It is interesting that you were on birth control and the test was negative.
- Indeed, we were also surprised and could not understand how that was possible, but it happened and we have already formed a son.
